How are those new year’s resolutions coming along?

How are those new year’s resolutions coming along?

I purposely decided not to raise the topic until this week.

Why?

Well, because it’ll be round about now – late January – that most of you (yes most – and I'm not being cynical, just real) have already abandoned your well-intentioned fitness undertakings for 2018 – however simple or lofty they were.

So the timing’s appropriate to address this.

When to consider a fitness program, and when to run the other way

When to consider a fitness program, and when to run the other way

I've been grappling with this notion a lot lately, as I work to finalize the Sensible Fitness Program (SFP) online course.

Why?

Well, as the course material gradually takes shape and nears completion, and as I look at its content – I'm reminded of just how different it is to what’s out there. Although I never intended to copy or rehash any existing stuff, I never figured that it would be so unique.

Come to think of it though, it never aspired to conform either. So I guess there's really no surprise. It's a reminder to me, nonetheless, that 'The Sensible Way' and myfitnessroad.com are unconventional.

Deliberately so.

Combining Veganism with a Ketogenic Diet

Combining Veganism with a Ketogenic Diet

Greetings! Clay here.

Some time back, I created a page dealing with the Ketogenic style of eating.

Besides having spent quite a bit of time and energy researching the topic, I also experimented with its protocols alongside my regular training program. My findings and recommendations, as well as the sources I consulted, are well-documented on that page.

Keto aside, I have also become intrigued by the Vegan way-of-life. I'm constantly mindful of the effects on farming by our conventional industries, overfishing and the ill-treatment of animals – not to mention the negative impact on our planet. So while my family and I still consume animal products, we have begun reducing our consumption, incorporating more plant-based foods into our meals.

So when I was approached by Carol Ventura to collaborate on fitness, and the relationships with Keto and Vegan, the timing was perfect. I'm really looking forward to delving deeper into these topics with her, going forward.

So this page belongs to Carol and her excellent article on combining two revolutionary, and sometimes controversial styles of eating, into a harmonious, healthy and sustainable way-of-life.

She reveals some really interesting experiences and well-researched insight on these two topics.

I'm certain you will find her contribution both interesting and compelling.

Caffeine and Fitness

Caffeine and Fitness

Could caffeine give your next workout a boost?

Did you start today with a cup of coffee?

It’s more than likely, as coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world. But it has become more than a morning pick-me-up and is now increasingly used to boost fitness and performance. Athletes are using caffeine supplements and people are even drinking coffee before they head to the gym to help them workout for longer.
